KEYCOM develops systems to measure RF power density from small wireless devices such as cell phones, and check if the results are above the specific regulatory requirement*.
Measuring frequency is 6GHz or more, including the 28GHz band, which is allocated for local 5G in Japan .
*The regulatory requirement is prescribed in the report by the Information and Communication Council in Japan to consultation No.2042.
Measurement Process
Measurement process is as follows;
- For DUT(Device Under Test) with only one antenna element, the measurement range is 4cm2 at a distance of 2mm from DUT to calculate average value in 6 minutes.
- For DUT with multiple antenna elements, the distance is determined by the area where the spatial-average power density is maximized.
- The system generates an alert if calculated value is above the regulatory requirement.
