Bird strike Preservation Radar
Model No. RAD80
To drastically solve bird strikes by rare raptors and other birds of prey (Note 1), which are a serious problem in wind power generation projects,
We have developed and demonstrated radar technology that captures the flight coordinates, flight speed, direction, etc. of birds to understand their flight patterns (Note 2).
【Notes】
- Note 1 : Rare raptors include white-tailed eagles, Steller's sea eagles, golden eagles, and bear hawks.
- Note 2 : This technology was commissioned by the Ministry of the Environment under the "Development and Demonstration Project for Enhanced CO2 Emission Reduction
Measures
(Development and demonstration of bird strike countermeasure system using 3D radar technology)" by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan.
Keycom Corporation,X Urban Research Institute Co,X Urban Research Institute, Inc. and Asia Kosoku Corporation, etc., under the commission of the Ministry of the Environment of Japan.
(Assumed three-year period from FY 2014 to FY 2016)
Features
- 3D radar that can also measure the flight altitude of birds
- After supplementation, switch to tracking mode to determine flight patterns. (Used for different types)
- Advanced clutter suppression performance
- Radar data can be acquired according to the flapping of birds' wings
